Lent at Renovation
Join us for 40 days of prayer and fasting
What is Lent?
Lent is a forty-day season of reflection, fasting, and renewal, beginning on Ash Wednesday and leading to Easter. The name comes from an old Anglo-Saxon word meaning "lengthen," referencing spring’s longer days. It mirrors Jesus’ 40 days in the wilderness, where He fasted and prayed.
For centuries, Christians have observed Lent through repentance, fasting, and acts of service. Today, it remains a time for us to deepen our faith by giving something up and drawing closer to God. Each Sunday in Lent is a "mini-Easter," where we eagerly anticipate Jesus' resurrection.
