Joy To The World

Sermon Guide

Psalm 98:4-9
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;
break forth into joyous song and sing praises.
Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre,
with the lyre and the sound of melody.
With trumpets and the sound of the horn
make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord.
Let the sea roar and all that fills it,
the world and those who live in it.
Let the floods clap their hands;
let the hills sing together for joy
at the presence of the Lord, for he is coming
to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with righteousness
and the peoples with equity.

…inexpressible and filled with glory!

Charles Spurgeon
Miriam didn’t use an Egyptian song. Deborah didn’t use Miriam’s song. “There must be new songs on new occasions of triumph.”

Isaac Watts
Joy to the earth! The Saviour reigns! Let me their songs employ; While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

Isaac Watts
No more let sins and sorrow grow, nor thorns infest the ground; He comes to make His blessings flow Far as the Curse is found, Far as the curse is found, Far as, far as the curse is found.

Sing a new song to the Lord.
